I got one of these at a thrift store brand new for $4.50
Yes you can make gelato because actually that' exactly what you are doing. Gelato is not some 'Italian secret way' to make ice cream. Gelato is simply 'fresh' ice cream which in fact goes bad in a few days since it does not contain preservative and such. The stuff you buy at the supermarket is not as good as a gelato since is not fresh. Happy gelato makings 😉

In the end, I went with #8.

I have the model 21 for years. It is a fantastic machine, combined with Junkett Brand ice cream mix (chocolate, strawberry and vanilla) it makes a super great tasting ice cream. If you like Wendy's Chocolate Frosty's, you will love this! It is sturdy and easy to use and easy to clean up. If you do use the Junkett brand, I would suggest doubling the recipe with two boxes of mix and 4 cups of half and half. That's it. I know that its more than the machine is designed for, but about 20 minutes into the process the chocolate ice cream starts to come up to the top, and if you have kids, (or not) this would be a great time to get out a couple of spoons for a preliminary taste of the finished product!!!
One last tip, it takes at least 24 hours in the coldest part of the freezer to fully chill the freezer container and the colder it is, the better the product. Enjoy!!!

After "toasting" the pecan in butter….. I think "saute" is the word you're looking for. You'd only be toasting them if it was a dry pan.
